True Cross Catholic School finds its heavenly patrons in the Blessed Virgin Mary and Saint Joseph, the earthly parents entrusted with the care and formation of Jesus Christ. Their patronage is profoundly connected to our school’s mission, especially as expressed in the Gospel of Luke: “And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature, and in favor with God and man.” (Luke 2:52)
In the home of Nazareth, Mary and Joseph provided the environment in which the Son of God grew humanly and spiritually. Under their guidance, Jesus learned not only the Scriptures and the traditions of His people, but also the virtues of humility, obedience, diligence, and love. • Mary, Seat of Wisdom, nurtured the heart and mind of Jesus with tenderness, faith, and the example of perfect discipleship. She is the model for our students in listening attentively to God’s Word, pondering it deeply, and living it joyfully. • Joseph, the Just Man, taught Jesus the dignity of work, the value of discipline, and the integrity of living according to God’s will. He is the model for our students in responsibility, perseverance, and quiet strength.
As our patrons, Mary and Joseph intercede for us so that, like the Holy Family of Nazareth, our school may be a place where faith and reason are united, where knowledge is pursued with humility, and where every child is encouraged to grow “in wisdom and grace before God and man” (Luke 2:52).
Through their prayers, we strive to form not only well-educated students, but also saints in the making; young men and women ready to engage the world with clarity, conviction, and charity.
